Travel Schedule
Day 01- Shillong: A lovely trip begins
On your arrival at Guwahati airport (Assam), an agent’s representative will welcome and escort you to the hotel in Shillong (Meghalaya). En route, the fascinating Umiam Lake awaits your visit. Umiam Lake: A scenic reservoir, which is part of the state’s first Hydel Power Project. Kids can enjoy various water activities here, under your supervision. Some of the activities to be undertaken here include water cycling, kayaking, paddle and speed boating. Proceed to Shillong and register yourself at the reception and freshen up as per this Northeast trip with family. Later, enjoy a refreshing sleep at the hotel. Tip: You can enjoy the scenic beauty of the Lake anytime but watersports can be enjoyed here from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM every day.
Day 02- Shillong: A day trip to Cherrapunjee
Welcome the new day with a savory morning meal and set off for a sightseeing spree to Cherrapunjee that will take you closer to Mother Nature. As this scenic town of Meghalaya is a favorite of showers, it is blessed with spectacular scenery. Have a glance at the mesmeric places that you will be visiting today –Nohkalikai Falls: These are the tallest plunge waterfall of India and the fourth highest on earth. The Falls have created a waterhole, which turns green in summers and blue in winters! You can also catch sight of Bangladesh from here! Seven Sister Falls: Also known as Nohsngithiang Falls, these are the country’s fourth highest waterfalls. Forming a seven-segmented waterfall, the Falls plunge over the top of limestone cliffs of the Khasi Hills. Watching sunset here is quite an experience. Mawsmai Caves: These are limestone caves that house stalactites and stalagmites in myriad shapes and sizes. The caves are lit enough to enable you delight in the nature’s artwork inside. Charged with the spirit of an enthusiastic tourist on this day of Cherrapunjee tourism, return to the hotel in Shillong and hop on your cozy beds for the night.
Day 03- Shillong: Visit Asia’s cleanest village and go trekking
Savor a lovely breakfast and head to Mawlynnong Village for an amazing sightseeing session, followed by a spirited trek. Grab a little info about these attractions here - Mawlynnong Village: The village is also referred to as ‘God’s own garden’ and is the cleanest village in Asia. Drink in the abundant natural beauty from the Sky Walk, an 80 feet high
